Vitamin C
Citrus is known for it's fresh scent, juiciness, bright taste, and abundance of Vitamin C. There are several health benefits associated with Vitamin C. Much like the health benefits we receive from consuming foods containing Vitamin C such as limes, or orange juice, our skin also benefits from products that contain vitamin C.
What are the Benefits of Vitamin C?
Benefits of vitamin C include it's power as an antioxidant to fight free radical damage to skin cells. Free radical damage can contribute to fine lines, wrinkles, excess pigmentation, brown spots, and a host of other unsightly conditions we may see on our skin. Vitamin C helps skin to recover from cellular damage, stimulates collagen, improve skin tone, and assist in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin C is know for it brightening qualities and is excellent for skin that has dark spots, age "brown" spots or hyper-pigmentation.
Vitamin C and VitaBrite Facials
The Vitamin C Facial facials incorporate vitamin C, also know as L-Ascorbic Acid and along with several other forms of vitamin C and antioxidants throughout the facial treatment to aid in brightening and tightening the skin.
The Facial
During the facial treatment, vitamin C may be included in the cleansing gel or cleansing milk for a deeper cleanse and to assist in the beginning stages of brightening the complexion. Many treatments use vitamin C as a peel to exfoliate and reduce cellular build up, which smooths the skin's surface. This stage of the facial product is active and is often felt as a tingling, or stinging sensation on the skin. Most skin types and conditions are receptive to this antioxidant based, yet stimulating peel. Although Vitamin C improves the skin's texture, skins dealing with acne may peek in redness if a client is experiencing active acne or breakouts. At the end of a Vitamin C facial, a finishing moisturizer or hydration may also contain a form of vitamin C .
